How can we get the top search result on Anton Bruckner to NOT be Wikipedia?
A guy impersonating Bruckner on Twitter has repeatedly asked that the Wikipedia article about "him" be deleted. I think if Bruckner was still alive, he would want that article to be deleted. But if that can't be done, I think the next best thing would be to get something other than Wikipedia to be the top search result when you Google him. How would that be accomplished?
I know how to exclude Wikipedia from my own searches. I'm talking about anyone's searches. Take for example Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, NJ. The first Google result for him is his own .com website. The second result is Wikipedia. The third is his own Twitter page. And fourth is his .nj.us page. But then someone like Abraham Lincoln, first result is Wikipedia.

It's very simple: you have to push another website to the top. This can generally be done by getting your website (if you have one) and third-party sites to link to that other website about Bruckner. More links to a particular page will generally make it more relevant—and thus more highly-ranked—in the eyes of Google's algorithm. You could also suggest changes to the alternative website to improve it; following Google's webmaster recommendations (< http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py... >) might help, and most of them are good practice in any event.
Alternatively, have you considered improving the Wikipedia article? That might be a simpler task.

Listen, Sieg, I'd forget all that stuff about what those people are telling you about manipulating Google's search parameters and related shenanigans. It's all "too little too late". The only thing to do is get Anton to organize some kind of boycott against Wikipedia. Perhaps even a leafleting campaign, backed up by a few car-boot sales and a bit of social-network flooding. He could get a few of his dead composer pals to join in. With Wolfgang and Ludwig in the gang they could really kick some Wikipedia bottom. What do you say?

Do a Google Advanced Search and then go on and put in "Words not including" and put Wikipedia and you should not come up with any Wikipedia articles. Otherwise, just do your google search and do a - sign and then Wikipedia, NO SPACES BETWEEN THE DASH AND THE WORD "WIKIPEDIA"
For example, My example -Wikipedia
Then there you go. :)

Just in the google advance search put -wikipedia after your search terms and it will exclude it.
Just be careful with this because if jdelanoy finds out you are excluding wikipedia entries he will baawwwww and ban you from wikipedia... once he comes up for air from sucking Jimbo's penis that is.
