How to teach myself to draw in symmetry?

I want to draw things that require symmetry. like if i draw a crown i want both sides exactly the same. i always get a lopsided product. is there a tip or trick other than tracing i can use?

    You can take a page from a magazine of an object or a person's face, or any photograph; cover half of it with the paper you're drawing on, and draw the "missing half" of the picture.
