R&P: It Takes Two! What dream duets have you conjured up in your mind and remain convinced would be amazing?
This posting was inspired by an answer of mine to a question from Hurricain. I posted "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole and his daughter, Natalie. The song was first recorded by Nat King Cole in 1951. His 1961 recording of the song for the album 'The Nat King Cole Story', was edited and remixed, creating a duet with his daughter, Natalie, winning 3 Grammys, including Song and Record of the Year in 1992.

This started me thinking, wouldn't it be great to have the same treatment given to some other songs. Immediately, Roy Orbison's "Crying" came to mind. Although not edited or remixed, it was rerecorded as a duet with k.d. lang, also winning a Grammy Award, in 1987.

So, my question is this. If you were to give the same treatment (either 'editing and remixing' or 'rerecording') to any recording/song, bringing together any two artists, from any era, what recording/ song would you choose, bringing together, which artists..What is your dream duet?
BQ: It's hump day, which marks the middle of the work/school week for most..What is a favorite song of yours, referencing (the) "middle?
My "middle" song is Stealers Wheel's "Stuck in the Middle with You". Just rewatched one of my all-time favorite movies, Reservoir Dogs, on Monday.

Aloha Harvey.
There is already a duet involving a collaboration between my two favorite bands, Tool and Deftones. Tool lead singer Maynard James Keenan sings dual lead vocals with Chino Moreno on the track "Passenger" from Deftones' White Pony album. Keenan also wrote the song's lyrics.

Another duet that I thoroughly enjoyed was the Christmas song "Little Drummer Boy / Peace On Earth" performed by Bing Crosby and David Bowie--two of the greatest voices in music history.

My dream duet would be a collaboration between Axl Rose (best Hard Rock frontman from the 20th century) and Maynard James Keenan (best Hard Rock frontman from the 21st century).
BQ: How about the theme song from the TV show "Malcolm In The Middle", a song by They Might Be Giants called "You're Not The Boss Of Me Now".

Hey Harv,
Tom Morello and Trent Reznor
A master guitar player and excellent at distortion with Trent, who's an amazing Industrial artists and producer would be amazing. Not sure how well Tom could do Industrial but i'm sure he could pull it off well still.
Serj Tankian and Zack de la Rocha
Two great Rap rockers. I'm a huge RATM fanboy, and still really like System of a Down, so i'd like to see a duet with them both.
Lastly, Bassnectar and Trent Reznor
I've used Trent already, but Bassnectar is a Dubstep DJ, and I think it'd be interesting to combine Industrial and Dubstep.

Cool songs!
Queen and David Bowie singing Under Pressure is a great duet as well.
I'd like to see Stevie Nicks sing a duet with Brian Wilson

Shirley Manson (Garbage) and Marilyn Manson (Marilyn Manson)
I'm not sure what song they would do, maybe a creepy version of SUmmer Lovin' from Grease lol. Something that was meant to be a cheezy duet and they could make it totally bad ***!

Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne, Lol...just kidding. I think?
I guess a duet between Stevie Wonder and Jeff Healey would have been nice to see, but sadly Jeff left us a few years back.
It would be cool if Devo and Kraftwerk joined forces...or maybe John McLaughlin and Jeff Beck...hmm, nah...how 'bout Carlos Santana & Booker T Jones?

Edit -
Maybe as an encore at the Ozzy/Bieber show, Ozzy could bite Justin's head off?

I think if they were still alive, Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley singing a duet of Hallelujah would be beautiful.
