D, people that climb mt. everest are only a few lbs. lighter at the summit than at the base

Very slightly less than ground level. When you're on the top floor of a building, the gravitational pull on you is very slightly less than the gravitational pull on you on the ground floor. Using the formula W = mg, since g decreases by a small amount, you'd expect W to decrease by a small amount as well.
