NFL rules question: Safety or interception?
OK. Here's my question.
The quarterback from team A throws a pass towards a receiver in the end zone. A cornerback from team B intercepts the pass in the end zone, but is then tackled while still in the end zone by another player from team A and goes down by contact, still in the end zone.
Safety, or interception?

The cornerback caught the ball. That's an interception. If he tries and fails to run out of the end zone, and gets tackled in it, it's a touchback and that team will get the ball at their own 20. It's the same if the cornerback decides to kneel in the end zone rather than try to run it out.
A safety only occurs when the team on the offense cannot make it out of their own end zone through forward progress. If a quarterback throws an interception to the team on defense, they don't get punished if they can't get out of the end zone.

Yeah, interception. If he leaves the end zone then comes back in and gets tackled, then its a safety.
I got 1 for you though. Lets say he intercepts the ball and is running around, he then fumbles the ball and the ball goes out of bounds in the end zone. Can you guess what happens.....................it's a touch back the the team that threw the interception gets the ball back. Doesn't happen much, but that's the rule(s).

That's an interception with the ball spotted at the twenty yard line. Because the cornerback was never out of the end zone, he could not have entered the end zone to be tackled.

Interception. But if the player who made the interception ran out the end zone and then back into the end zone and then was tackled its a safety.

Your choices make no sense.
It's obviously an interception. You said the cornerback intercepted the pass.
Perhaps you meant to ask if it's a safety or a touchback.

interception. It is also a touchback so team b receives the ball on the 20 yard line.

Interception he still had the ball and was in the opposite team.
