St Lourdes broken cantle?
There is a lady that is willing to trade her new St Lourdes jumping saddle that has a broken or cracked cantle, for 2 of my low quality saddles, both of which do not fit me or my horses. How much would it cost to fix the cantle? (US) Also, I have been told it can be ridden with the broken cantle?? Is this true? Also, would this be a good deal?

I wouldn't do it. My horse flipped over last spring, and totally snapped my cantle. The repair place told us it would cost more to fix than it was worth (it was probably worth 700-800). We ended up just throwing it away because it wasn't worth anything.

I honestly don't know. I would assume that a broken cantle = a broken tree but I could be wrong. Go to your tack repair man and ask him.
