Do i have a law suite or can I file unemployment?

So I tore my acl and the dr at the emergency room wrote me a note for 3 days, but of course I need more than three days,so now I'm going for a second opinion and get a longer dr excuse. I want to know since I been at the job for 4 1/2 what can I do since I'm on medical leave and I kno after a week they'll let me go. I live in michigan but I dnt kno what the new unemployment rules are for michigan workers.

Who do you think you would have a "law suite" against?

Based on what you have described you would not be entitled to collect unemployment (you have to be able to work to be eligible) and you aren't entitled to keep your job unless this was an on-the-job injury because you do not qualify for leave under FMLA.

If the company has 50 employees, you work over 50% time (20 hours weekly), and have been there one year, you are probably eligible for Family Medical Leave.

If you can't work, you can't work and are not eligible for unemployment.

What job do you do?? That would determine if you need 3 days or longer.

File a law suit for what? Did you tear your acl at work? You should file a worker's comp claim then.

If you are out of work you can file for unemployment. Your employer does not determine your eligibility to File for unemployment. Anyone who is out of work can file for unemployment. You may not get benefits, but you can file.

    4 1/2 what? Months? Years?

How do you KNOW they will let you go?!!!?!? They won't if you have a DOCTOR'S excuse!
