I've been thinking if you could download PC games like: Need for speed world or Wizard 101 on Wii and play them.

The only games that can be downloaded on the Wii are Wiiware & Virtual Console titles found in the Wii Shop Channel Catalog.
Since the Wii is specialized device, it cannot utilize normal PC code. Even the homebrew community have to redevelop PC applications (like FCE Ultra or SNES9X) to run on the Wii...
The only console that could make the transition to PC easier is the Xbox 360 via XBLA... as some PC releases (like Super Meat Boy) are developed using the XBLA framework as Microsoft includes the software framework for PC's do to this.

Yes you can download games on the nintendo wii you can download them from wii ware some of the games are free but you also need points for most of the games that are available to download. Hope this information was helpful.
