Will you be buying or doing anything special for your dog on St Valentine's Day?

I'm in the UK. A recent survey says 14% of Australians would rather spend Valentine's Day with their dog as opposed to their partner. I'll be taking my Westie dog out for a trip to a nearby lake (after having a long lie in with my hubby). The lake may be frozen as we have snow here but also it may hopefully be sunny, nonetheless my Dougie will be wearing his little dog life jacket for protection. What, if anything are your plans on this day for your dog(s)?

We will be watching the Westminster dog show on TV.

I will order pizza and of course will share with my dogs.

Being the kind and considerate wife I am, I will not make my husband

watch the dog show until Best In Show is being judged.

It will be cool here too, but I have to take the dogs out. I am working on socializing my new dog Pierson so that means lots of car trips, meeting new people, meeting new dogs, and being introduced to all the wonderful - and sometimes loud sounds - of life outside. Pierson is now used to his dog car harness, but not yet used to riding in the car for too long. So we will probably go somewhere close like the dog park. Here is a link for my other dog, Maya, in the car (the photo with the yellow Labrador). You can't tell from the picture, but she is wearing her dog car harness. She is a car travel pro! BTW, while Pierson will be meeting other dogs at the park, he won't be looking for love. He already has Maya as his love! 3>

What a strange (and creepy) question.

My dog is not my 'lover' (that particular practice is illegal in my country) so no, I won't be doing anything special with him for St.Valentine's Day.

I'll just stick to treating him on his birthday & Christmas.

My dogs and kitty will have to endure a Valentines day photoshoot with me, lol. Other than that they will just get all the same love and attention they always do. (:

    NOT AT ALL ! !

Out of consideration for my dog we purposely try to not disrupt his normal routine because he has no comprehension of what any holiday or special occasion is about. All the hoopla around special occasions just puts him off his food.

As such, I will be dining out with my wife and the dog will stay home and babysit the cats as usual.
