The problem with this simplistic analogy is that it is impossible to force energy to produce matter. It happens at very small scales, but because of entropy, free energy or energy in the form of light or heat is much much more likely than energy being forced to be structured mass. The reverse process, however, is done. Nuclear explosions are a result of the reverse process, that is, mass converting into energy. It should be noted that not all of the uranium/plutonium mass is annihilated in a reaction, so you do not see explosions which would cripple the world ( that little 9x10^16 joules you have up there). Only a small amount of the material actually annihilates. To understand just how serious this is, just open a book and look at the mean life of a particle such as a pion, which gives up the great majority of its mass when it decays into an electron/positron and photon.

God this is appalling. Yes it does matter.
Tea bags are a necessary evil but really good tea needs care.
You use a tea pot.
Heat it with hot water first.
Then place the tea LEAVES in the pot. (One spoon per person & one for the pot.)
Add water that is still on a rolling boil. Put the lid on the pot, cover with a tea cosy and wait five minutes.
Pour your tea through a strainer into a sugared cup - but no milk - stir in the sugar then add the milk.
Perfect. I suggest you use Earl Grey Tea for the most refreshing cup ever.
I use Pollards' (Sheffield company) Earl Grey Citrus Blend most of the time.
(The sugar can be omitted.)

i pour 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup milk in a sauce pan. I add 1/4 tspn of shredded ginger, 1/4 tspn of lemon grass, 2 mint leaves, 1/4 tspn of chai masala..
Boil.. add tea bags.. boil for a minute to two minutes until the color of the concoction is caramel.
take a strainer.. strain... throw away the junk .. sip chai.

Ah, yeah. You are completely wrong. Adding the milk too early makes the tea weaker. Ideally you use a teapot, but with tea-for-one you do as your mother says. Unless you are just making tea for yourself, then you can make it as anaemic as you like.

If you like the result, then you made it the right way. If someone doesn't like it your way, they can make their own.
