My mare was born on St. Patricks day?

Well the stores are starting to sell st pattys day stuff so I would like to start buying things to decorate my mare with. She was born on St. Patricks day and named accordingly lol. I want to get some cute pics of her all dressed up and I even have plans for a little cake like treat for her. I'ts really just a horse treat i'm going to make but it's going to be round lol.

I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. Her mane, for lock, and tail are very very long. Her tail touches the ground and her for lock goes past her cheek bones.

I was thinking about making a shamrock/clover around the frame of her butt and braiding green streamer into a running braid.

Thanks for all ideas :)

Update:

I know in the registries her birth day is different. The pics are for me personally to have of her as well as for entering a contest. I really wanted to do this contest and such since it was when she was born. It's kinda the edge I'm hoping will help me win the contest lol.

yyyyzz: Not all breed registries follow this rule, and even if they do, many owners do like to keep track of and celebrate their own horse's real birth date. There is nothing wrong with it. Yes, animals do not know what date is on the calender or keep track of their own birthdays, but it doesn't hurt anyone to spoil your pet for one day a year, so lay off.

You could use green glitter on your horse's face, mane and tail. Use a shamrock stencil to create a shamrock quarter mark. Get her a leprechaun hat to wear, a green halter, bell boots and leg wraps. You could also decorate a sheet to look like a leprechaun outfit, and you could braid green, yellow, white and orange ribbons in her hair. When dressing her up for costuming, try not to do too many things at once. Choose a handful of costume items that you want to do and execute those well. This will make the costume look well-thought and not too busy/tacky.

Here are some cute pictures of st. Patrick's day horse costumes for ideas:

My chickens were hatched on St. Patrick's day.

The green streamer sounds like a fun idea. I really don't like the idea of painting and stuff, it's cute but it's just... meh. Tacky, you know? Overdoing it.

I'd take her out to a great big green field for pictures. Even if it's not on her birthday, if you can find a day that's clear blue skies, that'd be nice. As a tip though, take pictures in the morning or evening (between/around 9-10am and 4-5pm) when the lighting is best.

you could fishtail braid the streamers on her tail or put green dye on it (the hairspray stuff that comes out when you wash it) if you have green polo wraps you can use those, green saddle pads, use horse hoof polish stuff to paint the hooves green, weave green streamers onto the halter, paint maybe a shamrock onto her shoulder. i hope this helped

All horses born in the Northern Hemisphere birthday falls on January the first and in the Southern Hemisphere on August the first. Just a note. The horse does not care anyway. No concept of birthdays and/or parties. Could hate all this "dressing up".

    Peace.
