What else could be expected when the European Union imposed sanctions on Iran, There are new restrictions on foreign trade, financial services and the oil and gas sectors, which include a boycott of new oil contracts with Iran. - the backbone of Iran's economy.Officials said the package was "by some way the most far-reaching sanctions adopted by the EU against any country".
The new EU measures are banning the export to Iran of key equipment and technology for refining and for the exploration and production of natural gas. New European investment in major sectors of the Iranian economy will also be banned. There will be restrictions on sales to Iran of any goods which could potentially have military applications. Canada has also imposed sanctions against Iran.
In a separate development, Tehran told the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that it was ready to return to negotiations on a nuclear fuel swap, without conditions.
This is the political posturing which countries do when they reach such a deadlock. Hopefully Israel can be stopped by America as seeing this as an excuse to attack Iran to give time for negotiations to happen.
We faced the same thing with Iraq over their weapons of Mass destruction and America would not wait for these international channels to take affect and invaded a country on what turned out to be lies. Let us hope that Israel or America do not repeat this in the case of Iran.
Of course it will have an impact on oil prices but nothing compared to what will happen if this leads to a war, especially as it could spread across the whole of the Middle East, then we would really be in trouble along with the rest of the industrialised world. There vast energy resources from the Middle East form the backbone of western economies

Nope. The European Union will simply get its energy supplies from the rest of the oil and gas-producing countries. Iran is a failed State and is on the verge of total collapse. See here:

yes, cos a quarter of the world's supply passes through the straight of Hormuz, and considering the likes of Saudi Arabia are sort of in a revolution things could get worse

Prices will go up probably guaranteed. But other countries said they would counter any problems caused by Iran. But companies will raise prices simply to fleece us.
