need physics help please!?

At an accident scene on a level road, investigators measure a car's skid mark to be 83 m long. It was a rainy day and the coefficient of friction was estimated to be 0.36. Use these data to determine the speed of the car when the driver slammed on (and locked) the brakes.

    Using the car's free body diagram, you see that the force of friction Ff is causing the car's deceleration:

    Ff - ma = 0

    μmg = ma

    a = μg = 0.36(-9.81) = -3.532 m/s² deceleration

    v² = 0 = vo² + 2as

    vo = √ (2as) = √ -[2(-3.532)(83) = 24.214 m/s
