Skyrim: can someone please answer a question about Companions ?

If I tell a companion I want to part ways so I can get another companion to sacrifice will I be able to always get them back? Will they be in their original location? And when /if I can will they always be free aside from first time? And also, should I be taking everything they have of mine first or will they have it when I ask them to join me again?

Yes. I don't believe there are any special companions that leave for good ounce you part ways with them. They will have your stuff when you return to them but if you want to insure yourself take the stuff and put it in your house for safe keeping. But yeah, unless you get bugged I assure you he will be where you last found him. If your really that attached to your companion make a save before you dismiss him so that if he does disappear, you can go back to that save:)

Your companion will be back at the original location. Im guessing you hired a mercenary, and I don't know much about them. I would think you'd have to hire him/her again. And I have no idea weather or not they keep your stuff, so best to take it back. Better safe than sorry.

yes you can always get them back from where you found them (unless its a traveling one when left alone) and yes it would be wise to take any items you would hate to not have just incase they die on the way back i lost a full set of daedric and dragon armour that way
