Should the Catholic Church be required to pay fed, state & local taxes in the USA?
Since Catholic Charities gets money from federal, state and local grants to fund programs that support the Catholic agenda, which often is diametrically opposed to the agendas of most Americans, shouldn't the Catholic Church be required to pay federal and state taxes?
OR maybe, since the Catholic Church is really a nation unto itself, with representation in the UN, members of the Church should have their US citizenship revoked until and unless they agree to separate from The Vatican, send all foreign-born priests back to their countries of origin and open up the priesthood to women, so they can stop promoting overpopulation techniques that are in place only to maintain the exclusively male hierarchy.
Stephen Mumford: "Large families yield priests. Small families do not yield priests."
cristoiglesia: re;tyrannical government - I do not propose a tyrannical government. I fight against it. The Vatican and Catholic hierarchy is tyranny that is trying hard to take over the US and the world.
re: female priests: Why not. If the church can't make it work with women priests, then maybe that is God's message that it should cease to exist.
Daver: re The Constitution forbids it. Where? Show me? Freedom of religion does not mean no taxation.
All Catholics: If your church is more important to you and you believe that following the dictates of a man in Rome takes precedence over your allegiance to the principals of this country, are you willing to give up your US citizenship to prove it?

No, All religion should continue to be protected by the Constitution. The right to worship should remain in the Bill of Rights. We are not a quite yet a socialist Republic with a tyrannical government as you seem to desire.
The money received by the government for social programs is given because of the efficiency of the Catholic Charities in providing aid to the needy.
Most of us would give up our US citizenship before abandoning our faith in God as you propose.
It is not possible to ordain female priests. I train priests who are sent all over the world to serve God and be shepherds for God's flocks. There is no over-population in the world. The world is still under populated.
Duh! Yes, large families produce more priests. That is a good thing and not a bad thing. God bless!

<<Should the Catholic Church be required to pay fed, state & local taxes in the USA?>>
Of course not. The Constitution forbids it.
<<Since Catholic Charities <snip> and state taxes?>>
The government funds the Church's social and charitable programs. Catholic Charities, for example, does more to help more people than all other chariteis combined, so I don't know where you're getting the idea that people in general are "diametrically oppoed" to the Church's "agenda".
Personally, I think you just like saying, "diametrically".
<<OR maybe, since <snip> from The Vatican,>>
That makes no sense. Yes, the Church is a nation unto itself at Vatican City, but it's not as if Catholics all over the world have duel-citizenship.
<<send all foreign <snip> priesthood to women,>>
There is nothing wrong with the Church sending priests where they are needed, even if it's another country. Also women in the priesthood is a theological impossibility. It's NEVER going to happen, no matter how much you whine about it.
<<so they can <snip> exclusively male hierarchy.>>
What you don't know about the Catholic Church could fill a library!
The Catholic Church promotes Natural Family Planning. The same technique used to prevent concenption can also be used to promote it.
<<Stephen Mumford: "Large <snip> not yield priests.">>
Statistically speaking, large families are more likely to yield any number of useful people, priests being one of them.

Good query, despite the fact that the Research and Studies Institute of Oxford England proved that Vampires ought to now not exist. Using a logirithmic math equation, they calculated that if one vampire did exist, and consumed one human every week, with the spreading of the vampire tendencies to all of it is new sufferers, that there might be no people left on the earth after simply 2 years. If they had been to consume most effective as soon as a month, that might provide us nearly 3 years earlier than they starved to dying. Thusly in the event that they did exist seeing that the center a while, then we might all be vampires, and real lifeless.

Yes and not only the Catholic Church. All Churches should be required ot pay taxes. I am sick and tired of
the Church medling in the Life of People who have left the Church because of their more than double-standards and we support them with our Taxes.
Religion is the biggest and most profitable business, it should be taxed.
The Republicans kick Religion into our faces continuously. Let's fight back.
They are turning into a Dictatorship. No wonder Ireland had a long and bloody War. I now understand
their anger very well and am ready to fight as well. Enough is enough.
