Please share your experiences with medication and appetite?
I am considering being assessed for ADD, ADHD, anxiety disorder, and depression. I hesitate, though, because I don't want my appetite to be affected either way (more or less). I have just seen many people start a medication and either lose or gain weight rapidly (it is not a pretty sight). If you have any experience, plus share with me what the medication is and what happened.
I do realize that if I have one of the above, I will just take whatever will work... but I want to feel prepared!

some doctors prescribe seroquel for depression
i had a lot of bad side effects and i gained a lot of weight
although it helped my mood (for the first 2 years)
it came at a price
i would not recommend seroquel

I want to start by reminding you, that clearing your mind is most important.
Different meds will effect your weight.
However, I can tell you from experience, most ADD drugs are kind of an appetite suppressant ... So, you might even lose weight on them.
I have been on meds for depression and anxiety .. And for the combo... And they have really no effect.
Just continue to eat healthy, and mindfully, exercise, and keep track of your progress, or lack thereof, when taking meds.... You might need some time for trial and error.
Good luck, and wishing you good mental health! :)
