  • babysitting for a 9 year old girl and 11 year old boy?

I am going to be babysitting regularly for a 9 year old girl and 11 year old boy during most of the day (morning until late afternoon). I've watched them before but the last time was a couple years ago, so of course some of what we used to do won't work anymore. They are very active so I would like to have some ideas in my head, just in case... novelty would work (at least the first time!)

  • How long does the flu last?

I am an adult and I do not think I have had the flu since I was a child. Does it last for a shorter time when you are an adult? How many days is it typical to miss work? I feel so bad for calling off (I NEVER do) but I have a fever and feel horrible whenever I get out of bed. What kind of symptoms are typical?

Thanks so much... I hope this goes away soon!

  • Do you think bipolar man will change his mind when depressed state ends?

I recently started dating someone who is bipolar, and I had only seen him in the manic state, until now. He started talking about how he is a failure and not ready for a relationship because he is so messed up. My question is, how long do you think the depressed state will last? Then, do you think he is going to change his mind and think he is ready? If anyone has experience, that would be helpful... thank you! :)

  • Men, what are your favorite foods?

If you live alone, what do you cook, or what do you order a lot if you eat out? If you live with someone, what do you prefer that they cook for you?

  • Anyone have experience with food and mood?

I have been wondering if feelings of depression or anxiety may be liked to poor diet choices. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any at all- could be specific foods that can make you feel better, certain nutrients that can make you feel better, lack of specific nutrients that may cause you to feel worse, addition of certain chemicals, additives, etc. that make you feel worse, general diet habits such as when you eat or how much at a time, or food combining... anything! Thank you

  • Please share your experiences with medication and appetite?

I am considering being assessed for ADD, ADHD, anxiety disorder, and depression. I hesitate, though, because I don't want my appetite to be affected either way (more or less). I have just seen many people start a medication and either lose or gain weight rapidly (it is not a pretty sight). If you have any experience, plus share with me what the medication is and what happened.

I do realize that if I have one of the above, I will just take whatever will work... but I want to feel prepared!

  • What are your favorite frozen meals?

... especially those that are filling, yet lower in calories. A lot are low in calories but the portion is small.

p.s. not including adding a side like a vegetable to make it more filling- just in the meal itself. :)

  • Biting into foods with braces?

I have had braces for a year and have never broken a bracket or wire or anything. However, I have been extremely careful, to the point where I don't bite into ANYTHING. I cut or break pieces off pizza, burgers, burritos, wraps, sandwiches, etc. However, I am going to have them for another year so I was wondering, WOULD something on braces break if I bite into those things (I don't mean hard foods like apples). What are your experiences? Thank you!

  • What food and meals do they usually have in the army (or not have)?

I am asking because my friend is coming home from a deployment in Afghanistan and without asking him (because he doesn't always like to talk about it) I want to know what meals he would like me to cook (like meals he would miss because they don't have them) or meals that they have a lot of (so I would rather not cook those so he is not sick of them). Any advice would be helpful! Thanks!
