Taking our fourth trip to Italy but our first with our 2 and a half old daughter.?
We have been to Naples 3 times in the past and although we are not staying there, just pass through on the way to Positano. I was taking to an older Italian man who is from Italy and he told me I'm crazy for taking my daughter to Naples. I have never had a problem in my past trips but now he has me thinking. So is Naples safe for travel with children?

Well, how are you traveling? Walking thru dark alleys at night?
I don't see how a cab or car, would be dangerous. Or a train or plane. Same as taking those things anywhere. Do you let your toddler wonder off at the train station?
I mean, that would be dangerous and not smart anywhere.
Having said that........Naples *is* not exactly the friendliest place I have ever been. It can be pretty seedy in places. I mean, Gardaland, it ain't. There's shifty people about.
Hell,I am a grown man from New York, and Naples gives ME the creeps at times.
Rome is far friendler......and, how shall we say.............well lit? More .----open? -......You see more police about?
Naples..............MEHHHHHHHHH---------------not so much,
Just keep your toddler close, and keep her off the street corners at night, ya know?

Eddie, like anywhere, now that you have the addition and such a young age, you have to be more vigilant, you can not leave her out of your sight for a second. It is going to be a little bit more work, than how it was when it was only the two of you.

I think that is as safe as a big city, no? If you go to New York do you think to have any risk? I don't think so. Just be careful, that's all !

No, it's not safe.
