What can I use for a back splash that can sit on top of a wood trimmed counter top?

The counter top is trimmed in oak and has a 4 inch back splash also trimmed in oak. I am looking for something to cover the wall above the existing back splash.

I need to do my backsplash; it is a plaster wall that forms an odd ledge under a window. I'm thinking about doing mosaic tile (bits) with grout; with wood, I think the metal ones they have at Lowe's would look nice. Including a link--

i think that small glass tiles will look stunning. Glass tiles come in alot of colors and can really brighten up a room. My back splash is a mixture of blue glass, light green, brown and gray glas... its sooo beautiful, i sugest that!!!!
