If I remember correctly Saint-Pierre is roughly 12miles from Newfoundland and Greenland is just over 15 miles away from mainland Canada at it's nearest point.

So Saint-Pierre is closer to the Canadian territory of Newfoundland but further away if you are measuring from mainland Canada.

Greenland gets pretty close to Ellesmere Island up in the northern parts of Canada. And there is even one island (Hans Island) that is disputed between Canada and Denmark. Canada claims the island and Denmark says it belongs to Greenland, in their kingdom.

Realistically, St. Pierre et Miquelon would be closer to reach for the typical Canadian. There is a ferry that will leave from the Canadian town of Fortune, NL not that far from St. John's. To get to any inhabited part of Greenland, you pretty much have to take a plane from Gander or St. John's to the closest city in Greenland that has an international airport. And there are only two cities in Greenland with international airports at last count: Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq.

Try using Googlemaps. There is a distance measuring tool which is available for use if you sign into Googlemaps.
