Holiday Inn check in times?

Hi there

I'm taking my boyfriend and I to a trip around London and am staying in Holiday Inn for the night. Check In times say 2pm, but I have a day planned etc, can I check in anytime after 2pm or does it have to be 2pm? So clueless about these kind of things :)

Thanks!!

Check-in is from 2pm .. so anytime after 2pm and you can check in.

If I'm arriving at a hotel after 8pm, I always give them a call just to let them know I will be arriving, but I will be checking-in late.

Most hotels, and especially a large chain like Holiday Inn, shouldn't presume you've cancelled your reservation, but it is best to call them and let them know if you will be checking-in really late.

Check-in time will start from 2pm (hotels need the morning to clean and clear all their rooms so you don't trip over cleaning trolleys etc in the hallways) ;) So you can check in after that, no problem.

If you're planning to arrive late in the evening, though, it'd be good to let the Holiday Inn know - certainly if you haven't pre-paid. Otherwise you run a risk of them selling your room to someone else.

You can check in any time. If you're planning on arriving after midnight then I would call the hotel and let them know you're a late arrival, just to make sure they don't cancel your reservation, but if you get there later in the afternoon or early evening then you can check in anytime. You might even be able to check in early, if they have rooms available.

For hotels in general: If the check in time is listed as 4 pm, that's not the latest you can check in, it's the earliest. And 12 pm is the latest time you can check out. That gives them from 12-4 to clean the room and prep it for the next person. If no one was in the room they have allocated for your use on the prior night, it's already clean and it's possible you can check in a little earlier. But don't count on it.
