How do I fix the glitch in photoshop where the text does not curve with the pen tool?

I understand the basic concept:

1. You click the pen tool and make your points as per usual

2. You click the text tool and click the line

3. you start typing and it works (yay!)

Unfortunately, it does not work for me :( I'm using Photoshop CS5. I saw online that many other people had the same issue, so how do I fix this issue?

Thank you for your help ^^

You can't just click on the line (path). You have to mouse over the path, and the cursor needs to change to a "text on a path" icon (An "I" beam with a curvy thing across the middle). Then you can click and start typing and it "should" work. You might have to zoom in a bit to pin-point the "sweet spot".

You can try to reset your preferences (holding alt, ctrl, and shift immediately after starting PS), but I don't know if that would fix it, or if it's worth trying since you'll end up losing your preferences.

If that STILL doesn't work for you, then perhaps you have a pirated/torrent/hacked version of Photoshop? Not accusing you, but just saying that with some pirated versions aren't actually "Photoshop". It's an editor, but an editor that is just made to look like (and partially work like) Photoshop, but it might not have all of the features and capabilities of the real Photoshop. Most users of the pirated versions don't even realize that their using a fake version because they only use the basic features that they would get with almost any of the cheaper editors out there. So if you are using one, then that might be why it's not working the way it should.
