How can we rent a car when we travel?
My boyfriend and I are thinking of traveling to Georgia for my nieces graduation. Except hes 19. We would fly to Atlanta but we need a car to drive around, and I think the laws require you to be 21. Is there anyway his mom could rent the vehicle but put him as the primary driver? I don't know if that would work. Or if there is a small agency that rents vehicles out to ages 18+ . We would like to rent at the airport but we're not sure. Anything helps. Thank you.

As far as I know you have to be 25 to drive a rental car, you might check a small one but any major company it is 25

You are allowed to rent when you are 18 in most states. The only catch is that you need a co-signer on the rental agreement. The co-signer usually has to be >25. Try Hertz they are the most lenient with people <21. The only problem (I hate this part) is they will charge you extra fees for having the second driver and also for having someone <21 on the rental agreement.

There is no LAW that says anything about the age to rent a car. If you can find a car rental agency that is willing to rent to you, then go for it. Most won't because their insurance company won't let them.

No, if he is not old enough to rent a car, he is not old enough to drive a rental car. Having someone else rent the vehicle and letting an unauthorized driver use it is a recipe for disaster.

Many companies require you to be 25, not 22.... most companies actually.
Call different companies and see what their policy is. Sometimes its just extra to rent under 25, but it will be difficult to rent a car under the age of 25.
