It's more common than you might think. Most studios do free touch ups for the first two or three months. It's in the contract you sign. But be nice. That same contract states you accept the tattoo as is. A reputable studio will make it right, but if you go in there raising hell, they'll tell you to walk. I've had both kinds of customers, and we're happy to help nice people. People that come in with an attitude get thrown out on their ear. That same contract states that you agree to leave and not come back, if asked. We've had to call the police on rare occasions. We've also had to tackle people in the parking lot who try to slip out without paying. Good studios have you on tape in the front room, but not in the work area. We also have silent alarms. Sorry, I got off track. Take care.

my first needed one because a piece got caught on my jeans, and took a chunk of ink out (calf)

my second was perfectly fine, just needed to fix a minor spelling mistake -_-

and my 3rd, I needed a small piece that was on my shoulder joint fixed because it cracked

it depends on the location of the tattoo, but most places offer free touch ups for the first few months

Yea, it really has everything to do with the artist, but most of the time tattoos need to be touched up.

I have had my 2 small tattoos touched up. I think it depends on if they scab...which you dont want them to if possible. I didnt really know that! I think its pretty common to get touch ups though.
