One of the most delightful chew items that I've never seen any dog refuse is called a Bully Stick. They are expensive and if your dog is a large breed may not last long. Costo carries a pack of 12 for about $20.00 and one of our cities small pet stores carries them for $29.00. It might, in the long run, be cheaper for him to chew on one of these and as one other respondent mentioned, pick up every thing you wish to keep. Giving him more exercise will help too. And you may want to look into one of the interactive toys that you put food into and they have to figure out how to get to the food.

when a dog resorts to that it usually means it wants more attention. you need to play with him more often so keep him occupied and take him on walks. also getting him a toy or chew toy would be great. when he chews on things that he isnt supposed to tell him "no" and let him know its bad. when he is good reward him with a treat and eventually he'll learn not to bite things :)

Destructive chewing comes from lack of exercise/too much energy. Play with him / take him on walks to get some of that energy out.
Worked for my Pit, and he has more energy than any other dog I know!

When my dog started to chew on items around our house, we put hot sauce and vinegar on his "favorite" chewing surfaces. After one bit he has quit for 8 years. :)

This may seem harsh to some people but im old fashion, Take the thing hes chewing on, shove it in his face and whip him. I have a black lab and i had the same problem. Good luck

Your dog needs a lot of toys that can subsitute for his habits. Keep important things out of reach.
