An Invasion of Mexico Scenario?

Here are some cons for you:

1. The national language debate would finally need to be answered, and we would end up with a dual-equality status, similar to Canada with French/English. The cost of recreating/reprinting everything in English/Spanish would be enormous.

2. One country = no borders to have to run drugs past. Even if Mexico was subjugated, that does not mean the cartels would be completely eradicated. Think Mafia, because that is what they are.

3. US invades Mexico and gets sanctioned out the wazoo. The economy can grind to a halt if this happened.The economy would tank due to enormous new SS, Food stamps, WIC, section 42/8, unemployment recipients. The national debt would grow. Minimum wage would drop (Mexicans work for cheap = fact of day labor temping).

4. The issue of naturalizing 100 some-odd million people is mind-boggling. And that's if they would want to be.

5. The best reason why an unprovoked invasion of Mexico is no good: The Chi-Com army would be knocking on our back door asking to be let in. Sheik Jerboutti and the jihadists would not care if it was a completely new country, they would use the turmoil, different language, and darker skin to enter the USA undetected and pretty much Akhbar Allahu all over our arses.

The question will be debated in the Senate some day. Last gasp of a dying empire is to lash out at all enemies, real or imaginary.

No I don't think so. It's a country of nothing but snakes, sand, drug runners, and tumbleweed. Not much better than Afghanistan in my book. They can keep it.

We already have enough problems of our own. Why take on another huge headache...they would just become an enormous welfare state, and we already pay out plenty of welfare, why add to it ?

Why would we turn it into a state?

I don't see any pros to it. They are their own country, and can deal with their own problems.
