Question about the reisdual?

Residuals tell us how our model is a good fit. if we see our residuals are graphed as curved, then our model is not a good fit.

If we see our residuals are randomly plotted, then our model is considered a a good fit.

what if I have a horizontal residuals? do they consider my model as a best fit?

please provide more info if you have.

Thank you :)

normally, vertical residues are taken into account. y - y(line). horizontal residues are also an indication of how well the data fits with the best fit line. in other words, a minimization of the square sum of horizontal residues implies a minimization of the square sum of the vertical residues.
