No it is not a metal it is a chemical compound.
Plastic is derived from oil as its base product, thanks to refining oil and its leftovers, and some chemists we got plastic and the rest is history.
For instance HDPE plastic is High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) it is a chemical compound not even a hint of metal.

It's a kind of compound, not a metal. It usually contains some form of petroleum. Doesn't degrade like food very easily, which is why you shouldn't throw it away to a dump, but instead a recycle bin. You can always wiki or google it for what exactly a plastic is in depth.

plastic is not an element it is a compound. It is not metal it is a polymor. It is formed by the long chain of monomor. It does not shows any property of metal. Ok

It is an amorphous solid, made from various carbon based, oil extracted materials.
