What is a matter with this squirrel's fur?

I saw and took a photo of a Eastern grey squirrel that is partially black,partially brown/orange.I've seen brown ones, and black ones, but never a mix.Why do you think it's colored like this?

    nothing is the matter with it.. like black bears, there color is in their genes, some black bears are blond, some brown, some black, and any variation in between.

    The picture is a buauty! nice shot.
