Can stress affect someone physically?
I have been feeling sick for about 3 weeks. I was actually sick with a fever, coughing, and had head and stomach pains. But 3 weeks is far too long and the coughing and fever left. Now I still have the head aches and stomach pains. I get hungry, but I have no appetite for anything. I begin to shake and I get nauseous. I am pretty stressed because my mom and my sister both lost their jobs recently, and they are struggling to pay bills. I also have boyfriend problems, and a lot of responsibilities at school. So could it be stress? Could it be the sickness? What should I do?

I'm thinking stress is causing that. You should take deep breaths. Don't get overwhelmed, take each day as it comes. Listen to music when you feel like that. And please eat. Maybe drink soup broth, as long as you get something in your system. If you don't eat your family will become stressed! So when you feel bad, play your music and stretch a little bit. Take deep, calming breaths and think of a happy thought. Cry if you need to. Pig out. Just don't be stressed. I hope you have a good day! Good luck! :)

Stress CAN cause these symptoms.. I stress a lot and make myself sick sometimes too.. BUT Since it's been 3 weeks straight you should go to the doctor. Maybe you should try to get on some antidepressant medication atleast until you don't have do much stress going on... I use to have the same problem and you will keep running into this problem (if it's the stress) if you don't get it under control.. You may not want to "see yourself" on antidepressant medication BUT it will help you and better your health because to much stress is not good for your health, stress can kill you especially if you feel sick along with it.. I know how it is... Stick in there! Please give thought to my suggestion.. I've done that battle.. Good luck! Feel better!

of course. all the dimensions of health impact each other (physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, etc.). if you're not coping properly and managing the stress it will present itself as a symptom by your body. getting sick, nauseous, tired, inability to sleep, random aches and pains are all things stress can cause. my boyfriend's mom stresses herself sick. she doesn't realize the stress is unhealthy. what you can do is learn to manage your stress in a way that works for you. ex: yoga, meditation, exercise, reading, watching funny movies, talking to someone, etc.

Stress can affect you physically, but if this persists, I would go to a doctor. It's also possible that it could be an illness as well, so I would see them if the symptoms continue.
