26th Birthday Party on a low budget?

My husband will turn 26 on March 17th I want to have a get together for his friends. Problem #1 I do not want any wives over just the guys as I wanna keep to my self with our infant and really do not feel like making small talk. How do I invite only the guys? #2 I will only invite like 10 guys since we are in a low budget. What can I cook ahead of time that the guys will eat? How much should I buy etc.? ( I will buy alcohol) #3 What kind of games / entertainment can I have? (I have NO / ZERO stuff so everything will need to be bought) #4 Should I decorate ? It is only the guys and husband said no St. Patrick BS lol any other suggestions will REALLY be appreciated

Guys are easy! First, if you're sending out invites, or evites, just state it on the invitation *Guys only etc..that way it is clear. Men like dips, chili, nachos, chicken wings, meatballs, tacos..stuff like that. Most of the stuff I named, or at least part of it can be made in a crock pot ahead of time so it can stay warm. They're just there to eat and drink, they don't really care how it looks, although you do want to make it look nice. I say no decorations since he's 26 and it's just a few guys unless he wants decorations. A cool looking "manly" cake would be nice as well.

If there is a good basketball game on that night, they would probably enjoy that. Do they play poker, or other card games? Not really sure about any other games.

I think you should talk to your husband about this. Maybe make it a poker party where all you have to do is set up some tables, buy a big sandwich from your local deli/sandwich shop, a couple of pizzas and some beer, several decks of cards and some poker chips. Men do not get all that excited about decorations or anything fancy. A dessert of some sort, finger food type like home-baked cookies. Men don't like anything which has to be eaten with utensils. Insofar as the invitations, leave it up to him to ask the people he wants to be there. A written or formal invitation makes them feel like they have to bring their wives or girlfriends.

    1. Don't decorate

    2. Let your husband go out with his buddies for dinner and drinks

    OR

    3. Tell your husband to have a Poker Night with Pizza and Beer (Cheaper and you can get Dominoes medium 2 topping pizzas for $5.99 Each)

Ask your husband what HE wants to do first off, its his birthday anyways...I know my finace turning 29 and we have always done things together, hockey games, baseball games, camping...

You could make pulled pork sandwiches with potato salad, and baked beans. And have chips and dip to snack on.

Let them play poker, they have poker kits at Target for $20

If you have a backyard maybe they could do a bon fire if it's legal where you live.
