Should I call the cops or just let it go?

Every single night without fail the same women parks outside my apartment in the handicap parking spot. Now normally that wouldn't bother me, but she leaves her lights on pointing right in my window. She's outside right now and I'm wondering if I should call the cops to come give her a ticket?

She usually leaves her car there at least a half hour, sometimes more.

Update:

@ sam- I'm not going to call 911, calm down I'm not an idiot.

Update 2:

@Laiowyn Silvanos- Didn't think of that, might have to try it.

Update 3:

I've asked her not to park there many times before, she doesn't care.

I take it she isn't handicapped ? That seems to be the only thing they can really ticket her for, and depending on how busy the PD is in the town you live in, she could be gone before you get an officer or community service officer to respond.

If she is hogging the handicapped spot and isn't legitimately handicapped, then by all means call... But I would leave the other stuff out. The PD doesn't really care if she shines her lights into your windows, and it makes it look like you are just calling out of spite.

It's unlikely they will care enough to bother coming out. Try filing a complaint with the apartment manager first. Or, if you think you can get away with it, go disconnect her battery. That should freak her out enough to not leave her lights on at the very least.

First go out and talk to her. If that doesnt work dont call 911 as that is an EMERGENCY number. In your case you should call the non emergency number and tell them the problem. Im pretty sure every station has a non emergency number.

If you know who the person is or where she lives you can just report it to the tenant and let them deal with it. Or if you feel comfortable enough, go and talk to her and tell her nicely that it's a handicap spot and her headlights are disturbing you.

Go outside and ask her if she would please park in a regular parking spot and turn her lights off.

If she does not listen to you or still does it again tomorrow then call the police.

No, you should not call the cops on them since they are not ignoring the law.
