Hard rock bands with a violin?
I love bands that have hard rock or punk styles and occasionally some hardcore, but it's hard to find any good ones with a violin. And preferably a lot of violin, not just a bit in one or two songs. So far I've got Yellowcard, Fireflight, and some Alesana. And I prefer bands that are within the last ten or twenty years, so no 80's.

Papa John Creach used to play in Jefferson Starship, Darryl Way in Curved Air and Eddie Jobson in Curved Air, Roxy Music and U.K. They may not be the heaviest of bands but the violin id feature in their music. Also, Kansas had the violin in their music too.

Eluveitie, a Metal band from switzerland has all the standard instruments like guitars, drums, ect, with a violinist, Herdy gurdy player and flute!!!

In Fear and Faith uses violin a lot in orchestra versions of their songs and I think it sounds pretty good [:

well y dont u try listenin to Iron Maiden's ..Brave new world...it has an whole load of instruments besides the band itself.....which makes the music different....but it has orchestra...n same bout metallica in SNM...

Rammstein has many orchestral elements in their music. They are an amazing band.
