Is there a term for this pathological behavior?

"Someone refuses to accept an evident or obvious truth, because they lack the knowledge to understand it."

Is there already a term for this type of ignorance-based defective behavior?

Update:

Yes I know this sounds like I'm some wacko mad because people don't believe me. That's not it. Generic question, I just occasionally run into this kind of intellectual reactionary behavior in reading about various competing ideas, and was thinking there SHOULD be a label for it.

Denial, maybe? Something close to that.

What have you been trying to tell someone that they won't believe and whom you are now calling ignorant and defective?
