Why do people keep saying the rich get richer?
When Allen Iverson is now broke!!!!
4 AnswersEconomics8 years agoCelebrate success or not?
Today I weighed in at the lowest weight I've been at in 9 years. Should I celebrate by eating an entire large deep-dish pizza and a whole cheesecake? Are those things paleo?
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness8 years agoDoes anyone know of a good forum to discuss legal issues?
I'm involved in a probate case in Arkansas. A family member and the "estate lawyer" (who is in fact HIS lawyer) are trying to screw me out of my modest inheritance. The co-executors in the case simply do nothing and don't participate. I'm at a disadvantage because I live in another state and am not on the scene. I need some competent advice!
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoIs what I did at the grocery store wrong?
I was in the grocery store Sprouts, and there was a book rack. There was that stupid vegan propaganda "Forks over Knives", and also some copies of "Practical Paleo". I took one of the Paleo books and placed it in front of "Forks over Knives" to hide it from view. I'm hoping my actions prevent some poor sucker from becoming a smelly, fat, diabetic, depressed vegetarian. Are you with me or what?
11 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoDon't you think this weird disease is caused by carbs?
Curious story about a weird brain disease among young women. Oh, big mystery, doctors can't solve it. How about -- it's a result of a carb-only diet deficient in fat and protein? Who gets it? Young women. The same people who try to live off of Special K and fruit and who avoid meat and fat. So am I right or what?
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoDo carbs cause eating disorders?
I see lots of young females in this forum with eating disorders. Invariably, when they DO eat they only eat carbs.
It's ALWAYS "All I ate yesterday was a half bowl of Special K and 3 baby carrots and a half a grape".
It's NEVER "All I ate yesterday was a half a prime rib and 2 ounces of cheddar smeared with butter..."
Is it possible that eating carbs instead of fat and protein causes the eating disorder somehow?
4 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoWhat's wrong with eating salt, anyway?
Why not eat salty foods? What's the prob?
5 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoIs it better to blend 1 ounce whipping cream or a teaspoon of butter into coffee?
Or both?
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoWhen will you knuckleheads figure out that the "Special K Challenge" is not a diet?
Two bowls of sugar-flakes with sugar water and 2 Kellogg brand candy bars a day? It's an ad campaign people!
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness8 years agoWhere did you learn what a "healthy diet" is?
Most people in this forum seem to be young people, and I see one after another of you claiming you have a healthy diet because you don't eat fat or red meat, and instead you're shoveling down empty carbs and sugar all day long, and wondering why you're getting fat. In 20 years you'll be wondering why you're diabetic. You poor kids are so horribly misinformed. Why? Where do you learn what you think you know about a healthy diet? High school? College? Magazines? Facebook? Where are you learning this stuff?
3 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoDo Malaysians drink soft drinks?
Follow up to an earlier question, but this may be more relevant. Do Malaysians tend to drink a lot of sugary soft drinks (Coca-Cola etc.)?
2 AnswersMalaysia8 years agoWhy are you chumps talking overpopulation when this century's problem is falling population?
This has been obvious for a long time. We'll top out a 9 billion (if that), and then it's the decline of humanity. Yet I keep seeing all these dumb question about overpopulation!
4 AnswersEconomics8 years agoDid paleolithic people clip their fingernails?
Just wondering how or if they controlled their nail growth. They couldn't have gone on like those crazy Guinness record people with the super-long curling nails.
2 AnswersAnthropology9 years agoIs blood pressure of 90/60 too low?
I've had borderline high blood pressure in the past, so nowadays I'm on lisinopril. When I check my BP in the morning I'll often get some crazy low number like 91 / 60. Is that too low, any opinions? Maybe I should cut my tabs in half or something. Haven't passed out yet...
3 AnswersHeart Diseases9 years agoDo the British use the subjunctive mood?
Seriously. I once found myself explaining the subjunctive mood to 4 or 5 British former co-workers. None of them had ever heard of it, nor made proper use of it in speaking, which is how the subject came up. I'd dismiss that as just everyday unfamiliarity with an arcane bit of schooling among normal people who are not grammar geeks, but just now I saw this phrase in a UK newspaper (the Telegraph): "If I was you...". Can any grammatically-informed British subject give me the scoop? [Note: using subjunctive mood, one should say "If I WERE you..."]
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay9 years agoShakespeare movie starring Anne Hathaway?
Is there ever going to be a movie about William Shakespeare starring Anne Hathaway as Shakespeare's wife, Anne Hathaway? I means srsly I'd fund the production of that movie just as a joke.
3 AnswersMovies9 years agoIs there a term for this pathological behavior?
"Someone refuses to accept an evident or obvious truth, because they lack the knowledge to understand it."
Is there already a term for this type of ignorance-based defective behavior?
2 AnswersPsychology9 years agoWhy do people keep saying the US doesn't make anything anymore?
When in fact the US remains by FAR the largest manufacturer in the world? Why is everyone so wrong?
