MASS EFFECT: Do DLCs effect what happens in the next game? (Excluding the DLCs that unlock characters))?

Say if you purchase the DLCs in Mass Effect 1. If you got them, would they make your experience anymore different in the next game if you didn't purchase them?

The answer is yes and no. Yes because Bioware often places a continuation mission of previous downloaded content in subsequent games. the subsequent missions would remember what decision you made in the previous game. No because Bioware doesn't exclude someone from a mission because they did not purchase the DLC. Based on how your character is oriented Bioware chooses for you what decision you would have made if you had played the DLC. Basically you don't miss out on anything in the new game by not buying the DLC.
