Will I stop recieving a Social Security check if I get a job? (More info in description.)?
I am 16, and I recieve Social Security because my dad died when I was 8. I live with my mom who used to also recieve Social Security because of my father dieing but it was only for a certain amount of time. I will stop recieving Social Security once I turn 18. So if I get a part time job will I still get Social Security?

Your mother's benefit ended when you turned 16. Your benefit will end at 18 or the month you graduate high school up to age 19. There will be no change in the amount you receive regardless of income. The caregiver benefit would be reduced by $1 for every $2 earned once income is over $16k a year, but your benefit is set and even if you made $100,000 a year it would not change. The only change in your benefit would be an increase due to COLA which is determined every year.
Good luck with your job hunt!
