Can I put money on my credit card over the credit limit?
e.g. Normal Credit Limit: 400/400
Would I be able to transfer money to my card, via online banking, in excess of the set limit, giving me, for example, 600/400 and, using that example, be able to successfully make a $600 purchase?

Yes you can, my credit limit was 1000 and used 100 than deposit 200 its now 1100 its just your money whatever is over the limit and good on your credit

No, because it's a credit card, and not a debit card. You can ask your bank to raise your credit limit.
