What do you think of a us open at Augusta national?

Would the course be ruined? What modifications would be made? Would they lower 13 and 15 to par 4's. Can they make those greens any quicker? Would they shave the rough on 16 and 11 so anything left would run to the water? Would the course even be playable by its members? Would you love to see it happen? Would you hate it? Could they even make the modifications possible between April and June? What would the winning score be? Would it be more suited for a PGA championship? Or Ryder cup?. I want your thoughts...

Me personally, I would love to see it.

Never two majors there, but the ryder cup would be the greatest tourney ever!!!Even the old ,stuffy augusta members might approve that one.Plus put in early fall and the course would have a 6 month recovery time and the ryder cup has limited players contributing less wear.

Let's get this out of the way. It will never happen. The Masters and Augusta National are synonymous. There will be no U.S. Open at Augusta National. "It's a tradition like no other." You couldn't configure the course to USGA specs in time for the U.S. Open unless they knew they were getting a U.S. Open. The course would be in shape for a U.S. Open by the time the Masters would roll around. The only major played on the same course. That's what makes the Masters unique.

Ryder Cup ... Maybe. US Open ... NEVER. Back to back majors at the same course is a horrible idea. Lowering 13 and 15 to par 4s will do nothing. Par is just a label.

It'd never happen; the Commitee at Augusta wouldn't do it. It'd kill the mystique of the course, it's sacred place as the first major of the year. I don't think it'd hold up very well hosting another major, especially considering the heat of Georgia summers. Not saying it wouldn't be interesting, but I just can't see it happening.

Never will happen. And yes, it would ruin the course, because it'd have to undergo major changes to make it harder.

I would hate to see anything like that.

I agree with others that it won't happen. I disagree with those that say it couldn't be done. All they would really need to do is narrow some fairways and lengthen the rough. It's just grass. It will grow.
