Remapping required for installing after market pipes on 2010 Fat Boy?
I want to buy V&H straightshots. Full pipes, not slip-ons. The question I have is this: Does the installation of any aftermarket pipes require the EFI to be remapped? Also, is it fairly easy to install those pipes? I am new to working on bikes. Any response will be appreciated. Thank you.

Are you planning on running baffles in them?I suggest that you do or it will run like crap.I would also recommend you install a high flow air cleaner such as a Screaming Eagle or an Arlen Ness Big Sucker.Yes it will probably need a remap to run right.Without putting the long baffles in the pipes it will never run right. The pipes aren't hard to install.Just get the pipes mounted and snug up the clamp bolts and header flange mounts. Then tighten everything.Clean the pipes with some brake parts cleaner and a clean rag BEFORE you start the bike.Any greasy fingerprints left on the pipes will get burned into the pipes.

no, the efi will enrich based on the new configuration....enough to keep the already lethargic engine sputtering as it normally does...
