Chickpeas have a lot of protein :) Try them in your salads, or make or buy falafel balls.

Gee, you must be an excellent cook to have tried all those beans..Are you sure that you were cooking them right ?
Two of my daughters are vegetarians and we often make bean and lentil soup, and I have tried most beans but if you don't soak, them first then cook they can taste disgusting...
A quick rundown of the most popular bean varieties are as follows :-
1) Lima.
2) Navy or Harricot..
3) Pinto.
4) Fava.
5) Adzuki.
6) Broad .
7) Purple King.
8) Butter.
9) White.
10) Kidney.
11) Garbanzo.
12) Mung.
13) Yellow or green split peas.
14) Cannellini.
15) Blackeyed.
16) Soya.
Before giving up on the bean scene at least get someone to show you how long to soak them for before cooking, because they are really, really nutritious and one of the best foods a vegetarian can eat..They have a low GI.and are just yum !
Apart from that though, there are lentils; French black, yellow dahl, red . green and brown.
Tofu ( soyabean curds) which when cooked takes on the flavour of what it is cooked with, sweet or savoury. Again very nutritious but can be fattening if eaten too much.
And then seeds...Sesame ( Tahini) pepitas, dried and lightly salted pumpkin seeds,Chia;, both black and white..
Peas; chickpeas, black-eyed, green..
Do yourself a favour and buy a very good and exhaustive vegetarian cookbook, because you will refer to it many times..
Don't be afraid to experiment with different textures and alternative foods within the same food varieties..you'll find your own way with it over time and you'll enjoy the challenge I'm sure..

Wow, I am 63 and I just cooked my first batch of black beans, and I love them, I put them in the food processor and they were like clay, so I added some butternut squash spaghetti sauce to make a dip, added some hot sauce and garlic bread spice and nom nom.
I also like lentils and split peas!
I am far from a vegetarian by the way! good luck

Could you be more specific:
Are you looking for a substitute in order to make a complete protein?
Or are you just looking for another alternative because you can't eat beans?

Lentils. It's still a legume, but doesn't have the same texture as a bean really.
