Do you ever feel put off by men answering questions about woman's health?

Maybe it's just me, but I always felt uneasy about accepting answers from men (and more specifically - teenage boys) regarding very feminine questions. (periods/spotting/breast development/discharge etc). It's not that the answers are wrong. I've seen some that were very good.

But even great answers doesn't change my feeling of "Why is there a guy in the ladies locker room??".

As long as they know what they're talking about, I don't see the problem. Maybe they're just in the "health" section in general, and not specifically in "women's health" - I go into the health section sometimes and I'd answered plenty of questions from men's health, even though I'm a woman. Maybe people just want to help.

The way that this forum is set up, many people are answering in order to get points. And I've seen some teen girls who think that they know everything, and are completely wrong in their answers.

In my opinion, if a guy can handle the talk in the ladies locker room, why not? We can go in the guys locker room anytime we want, too. It's not easy getting a TC badge in 2 categories.

No, not really. My gynecologist is a male! And I think that guys taking an interest in women's health is a good thing - they may know of advice from mothers, sisters, girlfriends etc, or have studied women's health specifically.

No...it's nice that some men know a decent amount about women's health. I suspect they are married..some teenage boys have very crabby sisters who are on their period and know more about it then they do...it doesn't creep me out at all. More power to them, they are the future of doctors.

I know what you mean. Its as creepy as my swimteam coach... male. Gym teachers... male. Every doctor who has ever checked my vagina... male.

On the flip side - I have to admit guys seem a lot more interesting in our bodies then we do lol. Maybe they are the true experts?

I agree. You don't see us going over to the men's health section do you? I agree, some answers can be very good but it is just creepy!
