Tornado Alley is a loosely defined area of the northern plains, mid west, and southern plains. In the past few years, there have been more tornadoes in the eastern half of the US. This area is known as Dixie Alley. It is another area that is prone to tornadoes.

The vast majority of tornadoes occur in Tornado Alley...a region between the southern Plains and the lower Great Lakes. The state with the highest tornado frequency is Texas.

No it hasn't. There are multiple tornado alleys in the country. The one that gets the most violent ones are in Dixie Alley (Southeastern states), but most of them usually hit the northern and central plains. And an active season? Tornadoes are way too short lived and their damage is not widespread. Only 1% of them cause damage like that.

I thought Oklahoma was the heart of Tornado Alley, so I'm sure you're about to have an active season. But who knows. We in the frozen North have had a very mild winter thanks to el-Nino.
