I am a guitarist with a 70 watt Behringer GMX110 amp, am I ready to start playing gigs?

I'm a guitarist in an up-and-coming post-hardcore band and I'm wondering if the equipment I have is enough to start playing shows. I heard you don't need an especially powerful amp as the venue will provide their own mixing. Our songs are already written and rehearsed.

Honestly, unless you're playing a stadium or a large outdoor venue, you don't need a wall of sound. Playing at the typical bar, small venue or house party you don't need tons of gear. I've been playing in a gigging band for years and we used to pull off shows using 60watt amps no problem. The bigger the amp you buy, the lower the volume setting you'll play through as even when I used a 60watt amp for bar shows, we never had them full out and nobody ever complained that they couldn't hear us.
