I want to start a band, but I'm going off to college soon?
So I already have enough songs written to release an EP and I've been wanting to start a band for a while. The problem is I'm starting my senior year in high school and there's a good chance that I'll leave the city I live in, which would only give the band a year to get recognition. I've put a lot into these songs and I want to see how far I can take them. Should I just wait until college or should I start the band, but reform with a new lineup in a year? Or any other options I didn't consider?
4 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoHeterosexuals: Do you sometimes wish you were born gay or bi?
I am a heterosexual male and sometimes I was thinking how I'd like being gay or bisexual, just so I could have one more 'f you' to throw at the conservative christian establishment. Like a middle finger to archaic, obsolete views. I like the idea of standing up for who you are against oppression.
Sadly I'm stuck being "normal" and "mainstream" :(
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoI am a guitarist with a 70 watt Behringer GMX110 amp, am I ready to start playing gigs?
I'm a guitarist in an up-and-coming post-hardcore band and I'm wondering if the equipment I have is enough to start playing shows. I heard you don't need an especially powerful amp as the venue will provide their own mixing. Our songs are already written and rehearsed.
2 AnswersOther - Music9 years agoI had a strange dream... does it mean anything?
In this dream, I was attending party and I met a girl. She was platinum blonde, almost silver, and insanely attractive. We hit it off and we got very intimate very quickly.
Fast forward to some time afterward (a few weeks I assume) and we're now a couple. She's a redhead now (the hair color of my previous girlfriend) and is even more attractive than before, literally my dream girl, the best my mind could come up with. We're in my room and I want to get intimate again, but she's reluctant and shies away. I exit the room for some reason I can't remember, though it was because of some need, not because I was angry or frustrated. When I came back, she was naked, laying motionless on the floor, and literally every inch of her skin was covered in dozens of cuts. She was bleeding profusely, and I was mortified, so I rushed her to the hospital, tears streaming from my eyes begging her not to die. When I got there, the physician was convinced I was the one who did that to her and eventually raised his voice to me, attracting the attention of several other hospital patients and visitors, a few of whom began to agree with him. In the end I'm not sure if she lived or not, but I was questioning myself weather or not I did it as well.
My guess is I'm visualizing regrets I have about my previous girlfriend who dumped me, and my subconscious is coping with self-criticism and self-esteem issues stemming from the belief that my inadequacies somehow drove her away.
As an unrelated note, I looked like Nick Matthews from Get Scared in my dream. I don't know why.

15 AnswersAdolescent9 years agoIs Islam an anti-male religion?
From what I understand, Islam has women wear the veil/hijab/etc. in order to "protect" them from the "male gaze". As if men are animalistic, uncontrollable balls of lust, devoid of empathy and women are too "pure" to be "tainted" by males. Am I wrong in assuming this is blatantly discriminatory and sexist towards males?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agowindows movie maker not playing video?
When I drag a clip onto the timeline in windows movie maker, it only plays the video's audio against a black screen in the preview. Has anyone else had this problem? It's an avi file, so I don't know what's wrong.

They were a great Emo band from 2008-2010. One of my all-time favorites.

I heard that a non-sulfate shampoo is the best, but I'm not 100% sure. Anything else I should know?
2 AnswersHair1 decade agoWhy do people see advantages to being one gender or the other?
I've always seen both as being essentially similar. Has society just told us that they are different and we just accept it?

This applies to overt bands like Behemoth and Whitechapel, along with more subtly anti religious bands like Black Veil Brides.
Both religious and nonreligious people can answer.
