How do you feel about bands with anti-religious lyrics?

This applies to overt bands like Behemoth and Whitechapel, along with more subtly anti religious bands like Black Veil Brides.

Both religious and nonreligious people can answer.

I'm a religious guy. But I don't care if the bands themselves are satanic. I'm a metalhead about 50% of the time. It's great stuff. I just won't specifically listen to songs with the anti religious lyrics. For example: Old Man's Child is a very satanic band. I love their sound, but I won't listen to songs specifically saying "Hail Satan."

I'm personally a Christian and I adore Black Veil Brides. It doesn't really bother me a whole lot, because I know what I believe and no one can change that. So I personally don't really have a problem with them. Also weirdly enough my one of my favorite songs from Black Veil Brides is Sweet Blasphemy, lol. :)

I'm not religious, and I wouldn't write off a band just because of anti-religious lyrics, but it just seems sort of mean and distasteful to me. I can tolerate it more if it's some heavy Marxist stuff, rather than angsty teens who frequent the religion and spirituality section of yahoo answers.

Couldn't possible care less. I am not religious, and I think ORGANIZED religion is a scary thing. Besides, I have a brain in my head and know how to think for myself, so if the music I'm listening to has or does not have religious overtones or has anti-religious overtones doesn't affect my belief system, how I treat others, myself, the planet or animals.

I try not to listen to explicitly religious or non-religious songs/bands. As long as it's more subtle and not the main focus, it's ok.

I'm agnostic so I guess that reflects my religious beliefs

It doesn't bother me, probably has something to do with the fact that I'm atheist, but bands with Christian lyrics don't bother me either. The bands are free to have their own philosophies about life, just like the rest of us.

i like them...i'm against organised religion (not religious people, people seem to get mixed up with the 2) but if a band has music i don't like i.e religious or anti-religious lyrics i don't listen to them. e.g. brian 'head' welch, one of the ex guitarists of korn (my favourite band) his new album is very very preachy...but i love the songs.

for countless artists their ideals or loss of ideals arise at times in lyrics in simple terms on account this is a ingredient of their life and how that they think of. they do no longer quite care approximately convincing human beings they're good or maybe having a ability on human beings's ideals. different artists attempt to quickly effect their objective audience (christian rock, good atheist advocates, etc.). in all hazard ninety 5% of the artists i be attentive to are the 1st variety, so in case you do unlike the different variety it quite is going to no longer be no longer uncomplicated looking different artists.

Actually bvb doesn't put anything with religion or antireligoius in their songs, but I don't care because I'm not religious

Since I don't even bother with religion, I honestly don't care.

I could see how some people could be offended by it, but pro-religion lyrics are even more offensive to me. Since religion never really mattered to me, I think it's awful when somebody is shoving their religion in my face.
