There's nothing wrong with abortion?

True. It's only wrong if a woman abuses it, like she gets pregnant a lot and every time she gets an abortion. But if she's a teenager and she made a mistake and she knows she can't go through having a baby or carrying it for 9 months. Then an abortion is fine.

My Opinion.

I think abortion has it's pros and cons.

PROS

If you are not steadily capable to bring up a baby economically or emotionally and cannot give the baby your 100% attention and care it needs for the first 18 years of it's life, you can abort it and wait until the future.

If the women is raped and gets pregnant I think abortion is the right thing.

The women may just not want to go through 9 months pregnancy. - I think this is quite selfish especially when they have not used contraception and have known the consequences.

HOWEVER I think if abortion is going to be carried through, this is only alright within the first 10-20 weeks of pregnancy. This is because the fetus is viable outside the womb at this time. It can actually survive on it's own at this time.

CONS

Some people think abortion is ethically wrong. It may also be against some people's religions etc.

The baby has a heartbeat quite early on and some people consider this as murder.

IF abortion was not legal then people would still abort there fetus' by themselves which is really dangerous to the mother.

Well, I'm kind of on the fence about this whole issue, however I am currently pro-choice. If abortion was illegal, some women would still find ways to do it, and that would be very dangerous. And if abortion is equivalent to murder, then what happens to the mother? Does she get a life sentence? Capital punishment? However, I do think that abortion is wrong when it is used as a form of contraception. Why should a baby lose its life because someone was irresponsible? I do not think that abortion should be illegal, but that doesn't mean I agree with it in some cases. I think it's okay if you really can't support the child, if you were raped, or if the child has some disability which will reduce its quality of life. I think more effort needs to go into preventing unwanted pregancies so that there will be less abortions.

It really depends. Some people have an abortion when the baby is almost fully developed which IS murder since the baby IS living when it's almost fully developed. It's considered a life right when it has a heart beat and brain waves though. Something that is not living thing does not have a heart beat and brain waves. I think abortion is wrong in most cases. I know I'll probably get thumbed down for saying that but it's my opinion so...yeah (:

Totally agreeing with you. Although I wouldn't say people are uptight... they usually just don't actually see the facts of the situation. Can someone please explain how a thing that cannot live outside the body of its mother is considered a life? Heart beat, organs, whatever, I don't care what it has, the point of the matter is that it cannot survive on its own and would die without feeding of off the nutrients of its mothers body. I'm sorry but that is not something that deserves more rights than a living, breathing, functional woman to me. A woman's right to chose should ALWAYS come before the rights of something that relies solely on anothers existence to live. Just my opinion.

3 weeks after conception, a fetus has a heartbeat. 40 days or so after conception, a fetus is responsive to touch and has measurable brain waves. At 6 weeks, a fetus is fully formed, albeit in a rudimentary fashion. It's got all its body parts and organ systems. They just need to further develop.

People that say adoption is a better option: The adoption system is FLAWED. Babies are taken from parent's and thrown in with a family that may or may not accept and love them. Not all adopted children are loved, not all adopted children are given great homes, and not all adopted children think 'Geeze, I'm glad Mamma didn't abort me instead!'

People that say keeping is a better option: Yeah, sure. An unwanted child couldn't POSSIBLY be abused in this situation. Sorry, but I'd rather a fetus go before a child is brought into the world.

If your stupid about the sex, as in no protection at all...an abortion is not the right thing to do in my eyes.

Ive been in that situation, where i was a complete idiot and didnt use a single form of protection and had a scare. Abortion wasnt even going through my mind, simply because i was the retard that could have avoided the whole situation.

Though if your doing everything in your power to have safe sex, then i find its okay.

Each woman has the right to chose when, and why she gets an abortion though. No one can tell someone what to do like that.

People have been uptight about abortion forever especially religious groups. Got a brother in law that said"what about the babies?" That's a very good question. Unfortunately you don't see all of these pious people opening their doors to care for them. I'm a firm believer in freedom of choice.
