Browsers hijacked, help!?

Something in my XP machine has taken over all 3 of my browsers, redirecting search links to either the yellow pages, or some car ads, or some green page where I'm asked to supply the address I'm coming from and other info. It does it on all 3 of my browsers (IE, Firefox, and Chrome). I completely de-installed Firefox (including all info) and re-installed it, but still the same. I've ran AVG (free version) scans several times. How do I fix this crap?

Your 'hostfile' may also be corrupted.

Get these installed: ►"HOSTS file" (from mvps.org) which blocks evil webpage assets from re-directs which install malware or trashware. (Vista requires special instructions; on-page link)

    http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

SpywareBlaster (snoopware prevention and hostfile guardian); http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.htm...

    In the future:

The following mods help, but methods ("vectors") are dynamic, and users must stay abreast of daily threats.

FIREFOX: Tools> Options> Privacy> top drop menu set to "Firefox will use custom settings..."> Check 'Accept Cookies from sites'

    ►Un-Check 'Accept 3rd Party cookies'.

A good collection of effective add-on's (Official Mozilla) is here:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/collections/dunbar-papp...

AdBlock Plus (with 'subscription' added) & "Better Privacy" also help defray rubbish.

►► At minimum, get the #1 item for malware prevention: "NoScript", which constrains automagically fetching & deployment of potentially tainted assets.

[Bookmark and refer to this page for how it works, and how to use it...very straight forward; http://noscript.net/features#contentblocking

INTERNET EXPLORER does not handle 3rd party assets very well (or anything else) and won't give nearly the control as Firefox.

    It is garbage.

    Use at your own risk.

I basically d/l the Kerio Firewall-i like it! it extremely is beats the tar out of abode windows firewall. i replaced into at one time employing the firewall geared up into my Iolo anti-virus, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it replaced into basically too, too complicated. I even have "beefy risk-free practices", as one tech instructed me, yet this Kerio is a huge addition. i'm not lots for undercover agent-bot (had it), it replaced into giving me multiple fake positives and it replaced into additionally analyzing my SpyOnThis as being a concern-it extremely is not-it extremely is anti-undercover agent ware scanner/remover. on the undercover agent-bot I had to place each and everything back in that it deleted as there have been some issues that have been valid purposes and Spybot disabled some important issues. I then cleared this technique out, rebooted, and ran my SpyOnThis. Browser hijackers are insidious and nasty. I as quickly as had to thoroughly restoration my equipment to production unit because of the fact of one (this replaced into previously I had the SpyOnThis. It stored replicating itself interior my equipment, even on deletion. i could locate it on the HiJackThis log, yet could not each and every of the climate on my equipment; have self belief me, i attempted. when you consider that I have been given the SOT, it eliminates each and everything, completely and thoroughly. the only prob with SOT is that ya could pay for it. Oh nicely, it replaced into worth it.

Try to scan with Malwarebytes free version.

Malwarebytes is not an antivirus and does not run in the background protecting you. It is very useful to scan for and remove things that might get past your anti virus.
