Misdemeanor from six years ago and job employment offer letter at stake?

I had a misdemeanor from 6 years ago from petty pot possession. I have a potential job that gave me an offer letter already. There aren't other people competing for this job. Now they are doing a background check. I'm beyond worried. Everyone makes mistakes. I hope they realize that and that they wont take back the offer letter....has anybody else ever been in the same situation?
