What is the difference between giving to the poor and giving to Liberals?

That makes no sense. Most liberals have more money than you.

Liberals are among the innovators and leaders in most industries. This is why higher income and higher educated people come from the blue states. We typically send more money out of our states and send it to the red states - ie the poor - than we receive. This is where the two sides meet.

So, let me guess: you drop off a $10 tip at your church on the assumption that it'll be given to the needy or something, and call it good?

That's the difference. Liberals understand the situations of the homeless and the impoverished and the disaster-stricken, and put together support in a way that will actually help people out of bad situations - which requires letting them "follow you around for three weeks," as distasteful and distressing as you might find it to be among the poor for that long.

We build houses. We fix schools. We sit down and talk to homeless people, and reformed felons, and illegal immigrants, and set up realistic paths for them to get out of their situations and on their feet.

Cons toss some change at the local urchins, and sit content that they've done their good deed for the year.

Giving charity to those that need it rather than those on welfare who just don't want to work.
